The Himalayan foothills, especially around Sikkim, are globally recognised for producing premium large cardamom called Seremna, a high-value spice celebrated for its bold aroma and flavour. Sikkim accounts for the largest share of large cardamom production in India, with cultivars like Seremna thriving in its rich, organic soils and crisp mountain climate, lending the spice a distinct character sought after by chefs and traders alike.
